I started the adventure of a life time living full time in a 35 foot RV with three other women. The unexpected was part of the plan. Our original route took us out of Texas and to Florida where we planned to stay until Christmas. Hurricane Irma had other plans for us. We did not feel that a 35 foot RV would weather a Category 4-5 hurricane very well. Never having been part of evacuation traffic before, we sat on I-75 for two days with everyone else until I decided to abandon that plan and start on the backroads. We made good time doing that, but still discovered that campgrounds everywhere on our route where filled with other evacuees that did not wait to make their reservations. We normally like to have a rough idea of where we want to go, but then choose a campground when we get closer, sometimes the same day we arrive. Mom kept saying things like, “no place at the inn” for us. We found safe, dry places to stay each night. The most adventurous was when we decided to stay in a Pilot Truck stop. The truckers raised a few eyebrows at our all female posse. Around 3am one brave, drunk soul decided to knock on the door and asked if he could speak to our husband. Mom grumpily told him that he was sleeping and the man wandered off to easier conversations.
Generally speaking, I would not trade this adventure for all the world. I love these women I get to travel with and life is never boring. I fall asleep each night wishing I had a few more hours to get things done. We spend a lot of our time working on the various things we all need to do for income. Miriam is promoting her music full time. Check her out at MiriamHobbs.com. Her new album comes out in 2 days and she has been working on the project for over a year!

Very exciting stuff. Follow her on all her social media accounts to keep up to date on what is happening in her career. A lot of our destinations are based on where she is booked to sing next. And that will become more and more the case as her career continues to take off. Makayla is also working on her stand-up comedy (something only the bravest of humans ever tries to do). She recently took a day job for a little while, but also manages Instagram for a few accounts to supplement her income. Follow her progress there at @RitaPociask and @Vagabounders on Instagram. She also helps with the videos on our Vagabounders YouTube Channel. We would both love it if you subscribed and followed along.
I have social media clients that I am working with as well as my audiobooks. The next one that I would like to tell you about is:

This is a really cool project. I love history, I love Bingo and I love biographies. This book is all three of those thing. Add to that the fact that I have actually been to the Oneida bingo palace to play and this book will also have a special place in my heart. Mike Hoeft did a great job telling the story of these very cool ladies as well as the history of the Oneida tribe and how tribal bingo came to be such big business in Wisconsin.
I have also started designing t-shirts that support all of our efforts. Check out:
Many people keep asking how they can show their support for our trip. Follow, like, subscribe and if you are inclined to support financially, purchase a book, a t-shirt or a CD! It all makes our adventures possible.
