A Splash of Substance

As anyone who does anything artistic for a living can tell you, reviews are sometimes harsh and should usually be ignored.  I got my first negative review of my audiobook work on one of my favorite stories.  I really felt I had done my best work to date on the story and am very proud of it!  When you get a chance give A Splash of Substance a listen and let me know what you think.

I love the story that Elizabeth Maddrey tells and love the characters too.  So, what do you do when you get a bad review?  It is kind of like getting a bad grade on a paper you were sure was “A” worthy.  I am continuing to move forward and improve my audiobook career for sure.  But I am also seeking constructive criticism.  What can I have done better?  What should I do to improve the performance?

I believe we should always be learning.  The learning curve in the RV has been huge.  Every day we experience a new place with its own challenges.  Soon we are headed back out on the road for more adventures (we have been “home” for two weeks now) and I know there is more learning coming on this next leg of our adventure.   Learning how to live together in harmony in a small space is a constant thing too.  One of the things we do is try to find something each day that each of us enjoys.  One of the things we did was agree on getting a sticker map of the US.

You know the ones where you can fill in the states as you travel?  We agreed on getting the map, but also on how we were going to fill in states.  We have to actually camp in that state to be able to add it to the map.  Now, all we have to do is agree on where on the RV we should stick the map.  Let’s the debate begin….
